THE STORY BEHIND BKJ COLLECTION
A UNION OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTSMANSHIP AND MODERN DESIGN
Thailand possesses a unique ability to blend tradition and modernity.
For generations, the Pha Khao Ma has been part of everyday life in Thailand — used alternately as a scarf, belt, makeshift bag, baby carrier or work cloth.
At Ban Kai Jaa , we wanted to celebrate this iconic textile by creating a small collection of lifestyle items inspired by this heritage.
The BKJ Collection combines Thai craftsmanship with contemporary design.

THE PHA KHAO MA
A textile deeply rooted in everyday Thai life
Pha Khao Ma is a traditional Thai woven cotton fabric, recognizable by its colorful checkered patterns.
Originating from the Thai countryside, particularly in the Isaan region, this simple textile has been a part of daily life for generations.
Farmers wear it as a belt, workers use it as a towel, families sometimes carry babies in it, and travelers transform it into a scarf or an improvised bag.
Practical, durable and surprisingly versatile, the Pha Khao Ma reflects the ingenuity and simplicity of Thai culture.
